Second grade needs snack and pencil donations.
Please provide your child with a water bottle for their desk.  Please do not send frozen water bottles.  All bottles must have a sports lid.

Please consider purchasing Ray School Logo (clothes)

Please send in the trip slip with fee as soon as possible.  In order to keep our ticket reservation we must pay for the tickets now even though the show is not until the 27th.  No fees will be accepted after the 7th.

Home assignments: (Reading logs are due each Monday. Writing assignments are due each Friday.)

Reading minimum 15 minutes daily —weekends too! (log printed on the back of this sheet)

A “Writing Application” project will last all 5 days of the week Monday: Plan (choose from the 2 topics provided) Tuesday Draft, Wednesday revise (make it better) Thursday edit (check for errors) Friday publish (turn it in to the teacher)

Writing Application:

Choice 1: A Story
Write a story beginning with the words “When Pat planted her garden, everything went wrong.  How did Pat solve the problems?

Choice 2: Compare and Contrast
Imagine a beach on a hot summer day.  Then imagine a city on the same day.  How are the two places alike?  How are they different?  What are the sights, sounds, and smells of each?Write two paragraphs comparing and contrasting them
