This week Students embark on a science unit about balance and motion. Students will work in class making observations about how things move and how weight impacts movement.
In math we will continue to look at place value and time and coins.
In language arts we will consider “author’s purpose” and discuss the difference between fiction and non fiction.
Our field trip is scheduled for January 27th to the Chicago Children’s Theater. We have purchased a very limited number of seats. Please see the classroom teacher if you are interested in chaperoning. If you have not returned your trip slip or fee yet please note that we purchased tickets already for all students. All field trips are a required part of our curriculum. If there is an obstacle for your family in paying please speak to your classroom teacher as soon as possible.

Write a fairy tale about a king or a queen who lives in a very unusual kingdom and who has the same name as you! Begin your story with these words…”Once upon a time…”
Choice #2: A Thousand Thanks!
Pretend you just spent the weekend at a castle. Write a thank you letter to the prince or princess you stayed with. Tell them what you liked most about your visit.
