Happy Spring!!

Just as a reminder the following home assignments are required by all students.  The teachers are required to give grades on home assignment completion.  PLEASE NOTE THE READING ASSIGNMENT CHANGES:

  • Sight word practice (make flash cards, or write and rewrite sight words, paint them, color them…what ever it takes to work with them) Students are quizzed on these randomly, so be sure they are pracricing.  Lists of previous sight words can be found in previous home assignments on the classroom web page.
  • Writing Application (each day the student is to work a bit on their writing and turn it in each Friday)
  • Math–usually a “home Link” or other work sheet
  • Reading: The book It Pizza Hut incentive program has ended.  In place of the reading log we are requiring each student complete a simple book report each Monday.  The form for this will take the place of the reading log.

Wow, Spring Break is upon us!  We wish you all a restful and fulfilling break.  Be sure your child reads every day over the break. Students who are not reading every day tend to fall behind their peers.

Wednesday is parent conference day.  It is a non-attendance day for students.  Ms. Clement and Ms. Sheridan will be on the play lot Monday and Tuesday before and after school with a sign up schedule for the parent meetings. Each meeting is only 10minutes long. If your family needs more time they will need to schedule a separate meeting for a future date. Thank you for your understanding.

Wednesday is also the time to elect a new Local School Council.  Please take the time to become familiar with the folks who are running, and be ready to cast your vote.

Please contribute a snack for us this week.
